We have been asked to share our home building experience with Derk Palfreyman and his subcontractors. Our first contact with Derk was when he was building a home on a piece of property that was adjacent to some land we owned in Eureka Utah. He was in the process of getting the utilities installed for the home he was building and reached out to us to see what our plans were for our vacant piece of property. He wanted to see if we could work together to maximize the investment of a new power pole that would help both of us out. We spoke for a bit and ended up sharing the cost of the pole for our future development plans. We met Derk at the home and after only spending a few hours of time with him we were very comfortable moving forward on the purchase. It was a great decision for us. We could not be happier with the home and the craftsmanship that we enjoy. We have not had to have any of his work reworked and have not had to contact him about any problems with the home. Derk also made the purchasing part of the deal very easy. He was willing to help us out and be creative on the purchase so that we could get the financing that we needed in place. Derk Palfreyman /Palfreyman Homes, built our home in 2007. The home was completed within 90 days from the day the loan was funded. This is the finest home either my wife or I have ever lived in. We built in the Soldier Summitt area at the 7,000-foot elevation. We need the home to be sealed and well insulated because it was off grid and we live here year-round. We have been more than pleased with the final product.

We have had two homes built through Palfreyman Homes. I am very impressed with the work ethic of the company, as well as the quality of work on the home. Derk was laid back and easy to work with. He considered our personal needs in the building process and allowed us to make changes that were necessary for our family. He made sure that we got the best home possible while still staying within our budget. His homes are high quality with very little wasted space. One of my personal favorite features is the wide hallways and the wide stairwells. I would recommend him as a builder to any of my friends!

A few years ago, the roof on my hundred-year-old barn finally gave up the ghost, and I found it necessary to find someone who could do the replacement. I soon discovered that the job I needed was unusual and there were not many contractors who would even consider it. Luckily I was given the name of Derk Palfreyman of Palfreyman Homes. When I called Derk, I was immediately impressed with his honesty, enthusiasm and willingness to look at the job. After looking at the barn, he felt confident he could do the job and would give me an estimate, which he did in a timely manner. The cost was within our means, so we had him do the work. Surprisingly, the workers built the roof on the ground and lifted it in place atop the poles that supported the old roof. The cost was less than his estimate, and the roof has been solidly in place for about seven years. We were impressed with the work and very satisfied with Derk and his company, and their honesty and quality work, which is so very rare in this day of so many questionable, slip shod contractors. If I were to build a new home today, I would definitely call Derk at Palfreyman Homes. Without question, I can highly recommend them and their work.

We first worked with Derk over 20 years ago; he drew up plans that passed with the city of Springville for a detached garage & workshop for a home we’d just bought. Still standing, good as new! Then, several remodel projects inside the home. Then in 2000 a wonderful “Great Room” & bath added, again his plans & city approval. So easy to work with; would describe as honest, knowledgeable, & patient, in fact a good friend.
